Meg grew up on a small dairy farm in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. There, she grew passionate about food as a producer, but continued to become interested in other aspects of the food chain when going off to college. After two years at Vermont Technical College and becoming involved in an expanding dairy in Franklin county, Meg went back to school in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Vermont. Now, after learning to cook, she finds it most important to obtain good quality food from the abundance of choices within Vermont, specifically after spending time in Burlington, VT. After joining food co-ops, and participating in CSA's all winter, she is most eager for the summer farmers market season to kick off!
Other then farming and cooking, Meg loves being outdoors enjoying good people, good music, and of course her dog Rocky. She dreams of operating a value added dairy business as part of the farm to share extra goodness with the world some day.

Holly grew up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont where she eagerly followed closely behind local farmers picking up skills and knowledge along the way. She continued to explore agricultural practices when she came to UVM. Holly was president of Common Ground, the University's student run farming club. During these two years, she helped run their three acre vegetable and fruit farm, selling CSA shares to UVM staff and students. Holly then moved on to work for Hank Bissel at Lewis Creek Farm in Starksboro, VT. Holly is an Environmental Studies major and Wildlife Biology minor. She hopes to use this knowledge to create a farming model that promotes sustainable food production and healthy wildlife populations simultaneously. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, kayaking, practicing yoga and visiting some of the great restaurants in the Burlington area.

Natalie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is a junior studying Environmental Studies with a minor in Food Systems at the University of Vermont. In 2011, she participated in a program called "Farm Academy" at Hidden Villa Farm in California where learned the principles of small-scale, organic farming. She loved eating the produce that was freshly harvested from the farm, as well as being involved in the transparent process from farm to table. It is from this point forward that Natalie became passionate about making this type of food available for all to enjoy. During the summer of 2014 through this past January, Natalie interned for the Good Food Awards, a nonprofit in San Francisco that celebrates food products that are tasty, authentic & responsible. She is interested in continuing to work towards creating a food system that is environmentally and socially responsible.

Emily, an Environmental Studies major at the University of Vermont, is a lover of animals, books, exercising, and most importantly food! Having grown up knowing nothing about good food and nutrition, Emily is now dedicated to learning as much as possible about our food system. Being a lover of animals and good health, Emily decided to become a vegan, not only with food but with every other aspect of her life. This lifestyle is easy enough when living in Burlington, VT during the school year, but it becomes harder anywhere else she lives or travels. Despite some difficulties Emily sticks to this lifestyle because it's important to her. This lifestyle also puts her in close proximity with a lot of vegetables, grains and fruits. It is this relationship with fruit that encouraged Emily to write about apples in Vermont!
